I will exercise my right to be lazy
Yemen
Yamanat
Majid Mohammadi
Today I will exercise my right to be lazy,
As a slow restoration of soul ownership,
I’ll sit where there’s no watch looking at my wrist,
No to-do list
She drags me by the collar in the morning.
I will let time yawn like me,
And it falls from his shoulders
Urgent coat.
I will practice laziness like one who prays without words,
As if I were listening to the beat of his heart,
He dances again.
I will leave thoughts incomplete,
Open sentences in the fresh air,
And the anxiety is on hold
On yesterday’s nail.
Today
I will not convince the world that I am worthy of the light.
I will be fair
A being that breathes
Without proof of attendance.
I will exercise my right to slow down,
Staring at a cup of coffee for a long time
Like a small galaxy,
And listening to the silence
When he finally speaks
With a voice similar to mine.
I will neglect to run,
I’ve mastered sitting inside me,
And gives the body the opportunity to forget
It was a machine,
And it’s laziness
A space of delayed justice,
I will restore my name
Among the teeth of the days.
